VKMT Bricks
VKMT Bricks has several departments that aid management. There are three general managers, and one Human Resource manager to monitor the labourers. We have an average of thirty labourers working on a daily wage basis who are involved in several processes of brick production. We also have a transport department with eight drivers and a strong security department. We have one computer operator and one auditor for our books of accounts. Our accountancy department works with efficiency and precision.
The founder of VKMT Bricks is Mr. Kannan, who did his post-graduation Master of management and systems at Thiagarajar college in the year 2001 and continued his father’s rice mill business (VKMT Ricemill, Anuppanadi, Madurai). He began his new venture VKMT Bricks in the year 2008 which deals with the manufacturing of chamber bricks.

The VKMT bricks campus covers an area of 13.5 acres.
The chamber covers an area of 15000sq.feet and has a 102-foot-high chimney.
We have a shed for raw brick storage that covers an area of 65000sq.feet.
We’ve built 35 houses inside our campus for our labourers.
The process of making bricks is simple yet artistic. The first step is to buy clay sand and keep it in our stock place for over a year. Then the required clay sand is taken from the stock and soaked in water for a period of 20 days. We then bring the clay to the machine and it converts the clay into raw bricks. These raw bricks are then kept in the shed for a period of 30 to 35 days to get it dried. These dry raw bricks are then sent to the chamber to burn through the furnaces at the chamber & by using firewood, coal and cashew husk as fuel, these dry bricks are burnt and turned into fired bricks which is the final finished product and is now ready for sale at the market.
